ARPornTube, one of the largest free online libraries dedicated to AR and passthrough adult content, has introduced in-browser streaming across its compatible video library, significantly reducing the steps between discovering a video on ARPornTube and watching it in immersive passthrough.
Users can now browse ARPornTube normally through their headset’s web browser and launch compatible videos directly into immersive playback using the site’s Watch in AR option.
The experience begins on the ARPornTube website itself. Once a viewer selects Watch in AR, the selected video is launched into a compatible immersive player and begins streaming, rather than requiring the complete file to be downloaded and opened manually.
There is no ARPornTube account or subscription required, and the new streaming functionality is available free across the site’s compatible AR and passthrough video library.
ARPornTube’s new in-browser streaming system changes how viewers can access content across the platform’s free AR and passthrough library. Rather than finding a video on ARPornTube and then relying on a separate download-and-playback process, compatible videos can now be launched into immersive streaming directly from their ARPornTube video page.
This is particularly significant for ARPornTube because the site brings together free trailers and previews from a wide range of AR and VR studios in one dedicated passthrough library. Viewers can browse between studios, performers and formats as usual, then select Watch in AR on a compatible video to start streaming it without first downloading the complete file.
Downloads remain available for users who prefer local playback, but they are no longer the only route from discovering a passthrough video on ARPornTube to watching it in a dedicated immersive player.
“Passthrough content has improved enormously, but we felt there was still too much friction between finding something on ARPornTube and actually watching it,” said the founder of ARPornTube.
“We wanted to make that experience much more immediate. If somebody finds a scene they want to watch while browsing ARPornTube on their headset, they should be able to launch it and start streaming rather than downloading a huge file first.”

ARPornTube’s new system connects web-based discovery across the site with dedicated immersive playback.
Viewers browse ARPornTube using their headset’s normal web browser, where they can search the site’s library, explore studios and categories and choose the content they want to watch.
Compatible video pages now include Watch in AR. Selecting it launches the chosen stream into the immersive playback environment, with ARPornTube passing the video and relevant playback information automatically.
The immersive playback is currently handled by DeoVR, which opens separately from the web browser when a stream is launched. Users do not need to browse ARPornTube through DeoVR’s own browser.
This allows viewers to use ARPornTube in the same way they would browse a conventional video website — moving between videos, studios, performers and categories — while still using a dedicated VR application for the specialist playback required by immersive AR and passthrough content.
Existing viewing options remain available. Users can still use ARPornTube’s browser-based VR player or download compatible videos for local playback.
ARPornTube’s library includes different types of passthrough content, and those videos are not always produced or played back in the same way.
Traditional chroma-key passthrough typically involves a performer filmed against a coloured background. During playback, that colour is removed so the viewer’s real-world surroundings can remain visible.
Newer Alpha Passthrough content incorporates transparency information into the video itself, allowing compatible playback software to separate the subject from the background without relying on conventional colour keying.
ARPornTube’s streaming system has been developed to accommodate both approaches across compatible videos in its library.
For supported Alpha content, ARPornTube can identify the appropriate video type and provide the playback information required for Alpha passthrough automatically.
The aim is to keep these technical differences behind the scenes wherever possible, allowing viewers browsing ARPornTube to concentrate on choosing what they want to watch rather than configuring how each video needs to be played.
Adding streaming across ARPornTube’s library involves more than simply delivering an MP4 over the internet.
The videos available through ARPornTube come from different studios and can use different stereo layouts, projection types, fields of view and transparency techniques. Those differences can determine how a video needs to be interpreted by playback software in order to display correctly.
ARPornTube’s streaming system uses metadata associated with its videos to provide relevant playback information alongside the stream.
This can include support for conventional VR180, fisheye formats, wider field-of-view content and the different requirements of Alpha and chroma-key passthrough.
By handling more of this information automatically, ARPornTube aims to make streaming content from across its multi-studio library more consistent while reducing the amount of technical knowledge required from the viewer.
“People shouldn’t need to understand Alpha Packing, fisheye projections or different video formats just to start watching something they’ve found on ARPornTube,” the founder added.
“Those things are important behind the scenes, especially when you’re bringing together content from different studios and formats, but the experience for the viewer should ultimately be much simpler.”
The new streaming functionality is available across ARPornTube’s compatible library of free trailers and previews from studios producing AR, passthrough and immersive VR content.
The platform includes content from leading producers such as SLR Originals, ARPorn.com, PassthroughVR and VRSpy, alongside a growing range of other immersive studios.
Rather than operating as a single-studio platform, ARPornTube brings together free content from multiple AR and VR producers in one specialist library, allowing viewers to discover different studios, performers and passthrough formats from a single website.
The addition of in-browser streaming means compatible videos from across that library can now be launched directly from their ARPornTube video pages using Watch in AR.
A viewer can move between content from different studios through the same ARPornTube browsing experience and, where streaming is supported, launch the selected video into immersive playback without first downloading the complete file.

The introduction of in-browser streaming represents an important change in how ARPornTube’s own video library can be consumed.
Downloading remains available for viewers who want local copies, offline playback or greater manual control. But high-resolution immersive video files can be significantly larger than conventional online video, making the download-and-play process an unnecessary extra step for users who simply want to watch a video they have discovered on ARPornTube.
The new streaming option removes much of that friction from the ARPornTube experience.
Instead of treating every compatible passthrough video as a file that first needs to be downloaded and managed locally, viewers can now discover content through ARPornTube and launch the stream directly from the same video page.
Watch in AR provides the interface for that experience: viewers discover a video through ARPornTube, select the option and move directly into immersive streaming.
Downloads have not been replaced. They remain available alongside streaming and ARPornTube’s existing browser-based VR player, giving viewers the choice between streaming a compatible video, watching through the site’s player or downloading it for local playback.
For ARPornTube, the introduction of in-browser streaming is part of a broader effort to make its growing library easier to use as AR and passthrough content continues to develop.
Bringing together content from multiple producers creates a large range of studios, performers, formats and production techniques for viewers to discover, but it also means dealing with many of the technical differences that exist between immersive video formats.
ARPornTube’s focus is therefore not only on building a large dedicated library of passthrough content, but on making that library increasingly easy to browse, stream and experience directly from a VR or XR headset.
